Explore our foundational range of medium-voltage fuse cutouts, lightning arresters, and specialty current-limiting links built to comply with international standards.
Wenzhou Shuguang Fuse Co., Ltd. is situated in Yueqing, Zhejiang Province, widely recognized as the electrical capital of China. We are a modernized power technology enterprise integrating intensive research, precision development, state-of-the-art production, worldwide sales, and support services. The historical predecessor of our manufacturing block was the "Yueqing Shuguang Fuse Factory," established in 1992.
With more than three decades of manufacturing excellence, our brand "Shu Rong" has become a benchmark for reliability in the electrical power grid sector. We specialize in engineering components that absorb excessive electrical surges, isolate faulty sub-circuits, and minimize damage to expensive substation assets such as voltage transformers, capacitors, and utility feed-lines.
Through our dedicated OEM and ODM manufacturing capabilities, we partner with provincial utilities, private grid operators, and electrical system builders globally to customize safety equipment tailored precisely to localized insulation requirements and voltage ratings.

Driving reliability and innovation in medium and high-voltage grid protection systems via specialized metallurgy and smart-grid integration.
In high-voltage systems, the primary engineering objective of a current-limiting fuse is to interrupt short-circuit currents before they reach peak values. Wenzhou Shuguang Fuse Co., Ltd. continuously refines its technical roadmap. By optimizing the physical geometry of pure silver fuse elements and using high-purity, tightly packed quartz sand, our current-limiting fuses act as superior arc-quenching media. When an overcurrent fault occurs, the silver element vaporizes, and the resulting electrical arc is rapidly cooled by the surrounding sand, forming a highly insulating chemical structure (fulgurite) that permanently interrupts the fault current path.
Utilizing high-density, processed silica quartz sand to deliver near-instantaneous thermal heat dissipation during massive fault currents.
Optimized thickness and notch configurations on silver elements ensure minimal resistance during normal operation, avoiding unwanted heating.
Developing hybrid electronic fuses that communicate real-time trip states directly to utility SCADA systems via localized sensors.

Operating from Yueqing allows us to tap into an extensive, highly specialized network of high-grade raw material suppliers. From specialized electrical-grade ceramics and high-purity silver strips to precision copper stamping components, our raw materials are sourced locally. This reduces supply bottlenecks, decreases lead times, and allows us to offer competitive pricing for bulk wholesale accounts and custom OEM orders.
By keeping core processes such as stamping, element corrugation, filling, and final calibration in-house, we control quality at every step. This model ensures that during global supply chain fluctuations, Wenzhou Shuguang Fuse Co., Ltd. continues to deliver standard-compliant HRC current-limiting fuses and related accessories on schedule.
Wenzhou Shuguang Fuse products are tested by national authorities and certified to international standards.
Our company is designated by the Ministry of Electric Power Industry to manufacture high-voltage fuses of various voltage ranges. Our inventory includes high-voltage current-limiting fuses, high-voltage fuses for power capacitors, voltage transformer protection fuses, zinc oxide arresters, drop-out fuses, and high-voltage insulators.
Our complete product range has successfully passed verification tests at the High-Power Test Station of the Electric Power Research Institute, the National High-voltage Electrical Apparatus Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the Xi'an High-voltage Electrical Apparatus Research Institute, and the High-Voltage Electrical Apparatus Laboratory. All performance indicators met or exceeded testing parameters.
We design and manufacture our products to comply with several technical standards, including: ANSIC37.42, DIN43625, BS2692, IEC282-2-1995, IEC60644, IEC60470, IEC60282-1, IEC269-2, GB15166.1, GB15166.2, GB15166.5, GB13593, DL/T640-1997, and VDE0636. Furthermore, our quality assurance systems are certified under the ISO9001:2000 standard.
Engineering customized protection for unique environmental conditions and regional utility grid compliance.
For operations in the Middle East, we adjust the rated current based on higher ambient temperatures to prevent premature aging and nuisance blowing.
For installations in Southeast Asia, our drop-out cutouts feature double-dipped hot galvanized steel components and salt-resistant silicone rubbers.
We supply current-limiting back-up fuses with striker pin dimensions and tolerances that align precisely with standard DIN 43625 dimensions.

Back-up fuses (the most common type used in DIN systems) are designed to interrupt currents starting from about 3 to 4 times their rated current up to their maximum rated interrupting rating. They require a series device, such as an overload relay or switch, to clear low-overcurrent faults. General Purpose fuses are capable of interrupting all overcurrents from the lowest current that causes melting of the fuse element up to its maximum rated breaking capacity.
Quartz sand acts as the primary heat sink. It must have high chemical purity (SiO2 > 99%) and a specific grain size distribution. If the sand is too coarse, it leaves larger interstitial air gaps, lowering thermal transfer efficiency. If it is too fine, it blocks the flow of metal vapor, which can cause internal pressure build-up. Proper grain distribution ensures that when the silver element vaporizes under a fault, the sand immediately cools and converts the path into a non-conductive glass structure called fulgurite.
Standard ratings are calibrated for a 40°C environment. When installed in regions like the Middle East, where temperatures inside steel cabinets can exceed 55°C, a derating factor must be applied. Typically, we recommend a reduction of 0.5% in current capacity for every degree Celsius rise above 40°C. This calculation helps prevent premature aging of the silver element and avoids nuisance trips under normal load conditions.
All our products are manufactured and certified in compliance with IEC 60282-1, DIN 43625, BS 2692, ANSI C37.42, and GB/T 15166 series standards. We hold type test certificates from several high-voltage testing bodies, including the National High-voltage Electrical Apparatus Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the Xi'an High-voltage Electrical Apparatus Research Institute.
